John Sculley became a trainee at Pepsi-Cola in 1967. Three years later he was named vice-president of marketing, and also created the "Pepsi Challenge" campaign, where consumers had to choose between Pepsi and Coke in a blind taste test. He became the youngest ever president and CEO of Pepsi in 1977.

John took the job of CEO at Apple in 1983. He wasn't much of a technology guy, but he was a great marketer. He and Steve Jobs butted heads and Steve was eventually fired. He is highly criticized for this, but sales still grew. With Sculley, annual sales grew from $800 million to $8 billion. Sculley ended up being forced out of his position in 1993 and resigned. |
